Before I actually went and perm them, I took quite a long time to actually finalize my decision. See, I have intention to perm them but to actually really perm them, is another story.

What if curly hair doesn't suit me?

I'll look mature, which I don't really want to, considering my kiddy look and attitude.

I have a small face so would I look like a lion after perming?

You'll probably think, it's just a hairstyle. Why over think? Hair grows, just cut them off if I don't like it. Or I can easily straighten them back. Perhaps, it's just my nature to resist changes. No, let me rephrase that. Perhaps it's my nature to resist changes that will put me in a disadvantage. Perhaps this is why I'm in the science field, an analytical field. Probably the reason why I'm not doing business or some fields that involves immeasurable risks. Don't get me wrong. I do take risks, measurable risk. I just don't like the idea of putting myself in a disadvantage.

So, yes. Even as simple as changing my hairstyle is considered as putting myself in a risk. I'm actually glad that I thought of perming my hair, it made me realize this side of me.

And heck, which girl will risk being ugly anyway? Lol.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-37804699943006238472011-09-13T21:54:00.000+08:002011-09-13T21:54:03.445+08:00Officially Ended My DegreeSo, I've officially finished my degree with my recent convocation on Saturday.

I remember it was such a big day for my brothers and sisters. They were getting all excited days before the convocation. As for me, I actually felt nonchalant. It was like, "Well, just a ceremony." I don't feel the excitement some of my friends have. Why? I don't know. Probably I thought it is going to be boring or probably it because of the location etc.

Turned out, the day wasn't that boring after all. I get to meet my friends and snap plenty of photos- that's for sure. I have the opportunity to have a couple of pictures with the VIPs on that day, Tun Dr. Ling Liong Sik and Dr. Leonard Yong. Also, I met unexpected people like my friends from foundation and back from secondary school.

It was very nostalgic how memories of my first day in foundation flood my mind while I was in the hall. They were still fresh in my mind. It was as if they were just last week when I was in foundation. When did time actually rocketed pass me?

All the hardship (well, not that hard actually. I was partially enjoying my youth as well.) of mind torturing for exams, squeezing time between tests, assignments and reports, copying and doing last minute tutorials, sleeping in lecture calls or skipping class. They were suddenly forgotten on that day. Suddenly, it felt as there were no hard times throughout the 4 years. Even the hard times were made fun of and they became a joyful event.

The end of degree doesn't mark the end of learning. What did I learn in degree? Plenty. It's not just academic. It's a whole a lot more than that. There are friends, stress, being crazy, family, being away from home and money. Most importantly, I think is that degree taught me how to be think. When I mention 'think', I don't simply mean everyday thinking like what to wear, what to eat or how to finish a homework.

I can't teach you all those. They are something with no theory to read or practical to understand. Therefore, these are the real valuable stuff I learnt in my degree.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-69252993282416424092011-08-22T21:45:00.001+08:002011-08-22T21:46:47.936+08:00New Phone- Sony Ericsson Xperia ArcI've always been a Sony Ericsson fan. I think they produce the best phone for me. Before this, I've experienced with some phones, from Sony Ericsson and non. I used to buy cheap phone with basic functions because I thought I don't need them. I just need to call and send messages. Now, I think I have a phone opposite to what I used to have. I own a phone with one of the best functions.

To start off with, this phone has a 8 mega pixel high definition camera. The qualilty of photos taken are, therefore impeccable. The lack of camera features is just a minor drawback since lots of photo/camera related applications can be easily downloaded to this Android 2.3 operating system.

An example of photo taken with the phone camera.

The 4.2" wide screen came in handy with this touch screen phone. Navigating through the applications, browsing the web and playing games are so easy. Although the screen is wide, this phones is not at all bulky. In fact, the Xperia Arc is one of the slimmest phone in the market today.

There are a lot specs I can write about but you can probably get them from the webs. I would certainly say for RM 1700, the Xperia Arc is no doubt, a fantastic phone. In fact, I honestly think this phone is comparable to an iPhone. Special thanks to my brother, whom got this phone for me :D

Oh yea, this update is fully performed using my new phone.

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4
eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-4288502775296604212011-07-25T22:13:00.000+08:002011-07-25T22:13:01.338+08:00First StepQuestion : Which field do I like most in Life Sciences?

I'm in Biotechnology and this field branches into many other fields. Do I like to work with humans, animals, plants, microorganisms, or extinct lives? Or perhaps non-living objects such as food, technology and the environment? Do I like a micro-analysis like genetics, biomolecular, biochemistry or do I prefer macro-analysis like ecology, ethology and botany?

I know Life Sciences is very broad but I did not really focus on the 'large scale' part, rather I've been working (during FYP and now as RA) on the molecular and microbiology part. So, maybe I prefer to do lab work with minimum strength used rather than going out under the sun and get some samples and do tests on them.

So, I like to stay in lab and use lab apparatus. This might just mean I like to deal with molecular level, but this haven't answer another question- what do I want to do with this tool/technique?

Do I want to get involved with humans? Create artificial organs, do gene therapy, find a cure for cancer or study human diseases?

Do I want to get involved with the plants? Study their stress responses, diseases defend, increase their yield, or produce genetically modified plants?

Or maybe I want to get involved with the invisible bacteria and viruses? Study their protein trafficking, interaction with each other, or modify them to be useful to human?

Lots of reading to do.

So many questions and such a long process to get to know myself better. What do I like? When I asked myself this question, I thought of the primary reason I chose Biotech years ago- I want to be a genetic engineer. I want to help the environment. With these 2 short answers in mind, perhaps I can take the next step and ask myself, what and how do I want to help the environment?

A good advice from my supervisor, "Like the Science, not the technique."eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-32400797561380510252011-07-20T14:15:00.001+08:002011-07-20T14:17:19.646+08:00Messy HeadIt has been almost a month since I last updated.

So, now I'm back in Kampar, starting my project as an RA. I realize all the academic learning I went through in any level in education institutes taught me a lot of theories. Theories are all the same. They are all reading and understanding. You may like a certain subject because it triggers your curiosity but the hands-on practical for this subject may be boring. Thus, these theories did not 'teach' me what I actually like to do. It's like I'm okay with everything but there is no one specific field that I am really into. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm not liking my current project. I'm doing molecular work now and I enjoy it. I just thought, if I was exposed to more fields, then perhaps I would know which field I really like.. or at least which I do not.

There's a lot in my head right now. I got to solve things one at a time. Hopefully with determination comes success.. and hopefully, the success comes quickly.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-78750804181744720072011-06-29T11:42:00.000+08:002011-06-29T11:42:12.842+08:00Starting The Second PhaseAs you know, I've already finished my degree last May. In 2 and a half months time will be my convocation. After resting for a month at home, it is finally the time for the kick start of my second phase- my master degree.

I'll be returning Kampar soon and be an RA (Research Assistant) while waiting for the application of my masters program.

Many of my friends went different paths. Some have already started working, some choose the same path as me while some are still trying to figure out what they want to do. I'll missed them, especially when I return to lab.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-35260502641680789102011-06-17T09:46:00.002+08:002011-06-17T11:28:16.838+08:00Visit to Guang Xi, China.I just came back from the Guang Xi province not long ago. My family members and I went for an 8 days tour and we visited Guilin, Hezhou, Yangshuo, Lipu and Xingan. This time, instead of summarizing what I experience each day, I'll tell you the interesting facts I discovered in Guang Xi. Facts different from what we see in our country.

1. Road.
I don't know if I should comment that Chinese are very terrible or good drivers. They are very scary drivers. They turn when they feel like turning and stop in the middle of the road even if there are cars behind. There are a lot, really A LOT of motorcyclist and cyclists on the road to make the matter worse. Not only car drivers need to avoid other cars, they need to keep an eye on the motorcyclist and pedestrians whom go in random directions. There is no one minute that I cannot hear honks. And I mean honkS. However, they are good drivers because despite the complicated and busy road, there are very little road accidents.

The Chinese driving on the left already confused me, having a very busy and complicated road system did not help much. There are very little traffic lights on the road.

The motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians are not afraid of bigger vehicles, even buses and lorries. They will not budge an inch even when the vehicle is just one foot behind.

When I mention motorcyclists, I do not really mean the petrol-driven motorbikes. Majority of the motorbikes (like 95%) are electrical bikes. They are as big as the usual motorbikes and are allowed to cruise on main roads and even highways like the normal bikes. But, electric motorcyclists do not need to wear helmets, like they are not prone to accidents as the petrol-driven motorcyclists. In fact, only motorbike taxi drivers need to wear helmets. Maybe helmets are part of their uniform. Helmets do not serve the purpose of protection.

Also, the fare to use highways are very costly. Approximately 250km in Malaysia, like from Klang to Kampar costs RM 25. Over in Guang Xi, the same distance cost up to 220RMB, that is about RM 110!

2. People.
There are 56 ethnics in China as opposed to the 3 main ones in Malaysia. In China, the majority are the Hans (I am a Han as well!). Other ethnics whom village I've visited are the Yao, Zhuang, and Hakka among others which name I do not remember. Each tribe lives in an area and speak their own dialect. Unlike how majority of (Malaysian) Chinese in Klang speak Hok'kien even though they are not Hok'kien people, the (China) Chinese only speak their tribe dialect and Mandarin. They do not understand other dialects. As oppose to this, due to media influences, many (Malaysian) Chinese can speak Cantonese as an additional dialect.

Each ethnic also have their own culture. For instance, one of the tribes which name I've forgotten, measure beauty by the darkness of the skin. Also, the man with the darkest skin gets to become the village leader. Although there are also Hakkas in Malaysia, they are not sensitive towards words like "xiao jie" (miss). However, Hakkas in the Hakka village (in Yangshuo), are very, very sensitive towards the word "xiao jie". "Xiao jie" should not be addressed to girls as this word is only used for prostitutes. The Hakka houses are also easily recognized by the display of their family name on the door.

The Chinese are very talented. I can confidently say that they are the only race in the world that can perform amazing acrobatic shows. Amazing! Small girls bend like they are boneless and small boys have the strength that could fight a bull. Imagine the discipline they have to train since they were toddlers.

One of the best acrobatic show ever!

How did they even thought of using ducks to fish?

Also, I've noticed that compared to Malaysia, there are lesser, who do I put this? Let's just say fleshy girls. No, I'm not saying that Malaysian girls are fat. Certainly no. I've seen supermodel slim figures. But I've noticed that in Guang Xi, only 1 out of 200 girls are fat. Even old ladies are thin. Besides, unlike how there are a handful of guys who have their ears pierced, I've never seen even just one guy with pierced ear in Guang Xi. Why?

3. Food.
If you think you like Chinese food in Malaysia, you might not have the same thought when you try real Chinese food. They are so very different from our Chinese food. They do not have 'bah kut teh' or 'char kueh teow' or 'laksa'. People in Guang Xi likes sour and spicy. They have a local specialty which smells, excuse me, but it smells like unwashed toilet. Their breakfast are porridge, mantou, their local 'mee hoon' (which, I swear are noodles!), noodles (which are 'kueh teow' ==), dumplings, pau with 'mee hoon' inside, soya bean milk and some weird kuih-muih. I've never been to Shanghai but according to my mom, she said in Shanghai people likes eating sweet stuff. Every dish is added with sugar. How weird... but similarly, if the Chinese came over to Malaysia, they might feel our food is weird. Lol.
While I was having a stroll in Hezhou one night, just to experience their night life. My dad discovered something, which to me is horrifying. Apparently, there were hawker stalls which sells exotic animal flesh. These stalls provide the service of slaughtering and cooking any type of animal meat you want to have that night. Snakes, dogs, you name it. Cruelty!

Guang Xi have their locally made beer. With alcohol level of only 3%, there's no problem drinking the whole bottle yourself.

There are also plenty restaurants I saw in Guang Xi which tables are no higher than 2 feet and instead of chairs, customers sit on short stools. Feels like China, yes. Lol.

4. Environment.
Well, I would say the government spent a lot and made an effort to preserve the natural and beautiful environment. It is indeed, the best place for photo-taking. Parks looked like ancient China, like those we see in TVB dramas. Even newly build building have ancient Chinese influence instead of adopting modern architecture. According to the tour guide, there are over 300,000 hills/mountains in Guang Xi, the state with the most mountains. So, yes, Guang Xi is a vacation spot for sight seeing.

On the other hand, I personally feel Guang Xi, although the parks and vacation spots are kept clean, other public areas like the walkway, roads, certain restaurants and open air shopping area are not as clean. There were papers and cards everywhere. The ground are constantly wet with dirt mark everywhere. What I can't handle most is people throwing rubbish on the floor when there's rubbish bins around. Perhaps more effort should be put into keeping the whole town clean.
Well, that's all I can think of now. After gaining a few kgs and a few shades darker, I'm back with more experience. It's kind of irony thinking how we are all Chinese, with the same skin colour and common ancestors, we are actually very different from each other.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-85208104982847249912011-05-31T10:18:00.002+08:002011-05-31T17:28:33.310+08:0021st Birthday Presents!
On my 21st birthday I got expensive gifts XD

A 50mm f/1.8D macro lens from my friends.

I asked couple of my friends and decided to try this new adventure out.
What is paramotoring? In my own words, the word 'paramotoring' derived from 2 words, 'parachute' and 'motor'. So, it is a combination of both of these objects and enables people to fly. Paramotor is actually a chair with a big fan attached to the back and a parachute on top. When the fan is turned on, it will propel the chair forward and the parachute will lift the chair up. Still confused? Look at the pictures.

There were 6 of us, my sister, Ah Wei, Gs, Sito, Leon and I. And we paramotored in that order. On the first day, only my sister managed to fly because sadly, when it reached Ah Wei's turn, the motor failed and she had to have an emergency landing. Scary, but exciting. So, we were asked to come back the next day.

On the next day, all of us flew and it was an experience to remember. We flew above the Straits of Melaka. I, or rather, my body is never flying-friendly. Whenever I fly (as in travel in an aeroplane), I'll be dizzy and feel nausea. But no, I do not have motion sickness. I can drive and take roller coaster rides, no sweat!
The journey to the location for paramotoring was an adventure itself. Never thought it would be located deep in a village. After paramotoring, well, it make sense because this activity needs a big plot of land and nice view. We called the office up for directions, which turned out to be funny yet frustrating and we were still lost for more than an hour.

Here's a clip I made, starring all of us except my sister because she flew off before saying any 'script'. Lol.
We couldn't make it back to celebrate Ah Wei's birthday. So, we make it up by baking for a birthday cake for Ah Wei and celebrating her birthday in Greenbox, a karaoke session! Yay!
It was practically our first time really baking. We were kinda scientific as in we read the recipe several times to plan the steps and then accurately measure the quantity of ingredients needed. 450g means 450g, no more, no less. But then my mom, an experienced baker, came and started throwing the ingredients into the mixing bowl according to her instinct. See the difference?

The most difficult part was not the mixing and baking part. It was the topping part apparently. The cream for topping is so 'fragile' that I could not exert additional force or else it would destroy the smooth surface. Geez!
Happy Belated Birthday, Ah Wei!eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-57684952837879734842011-05-16T10:52:00.002+08:002011-05-16T12:13:16.027+08:00Holiday PlansI've finished my whole degree course and I'm practically free until I start my Masters program.

What am I going to do during these 3 months? I don't know.. Maybe I will:

Go for another trip with friends (maybe somewhere this or next week)

Go for a trip with my family (confirmed to China in June)

Work part time from home

Clean up my room for some space for my clothes

Clear my wardrobe and donate clothes that I do not wear anymore

Watch the tonnes of movies I exchanged with others

Play DotA

Visit random places (like backpacking? Lol.)

Erm.. lepak?

After all these, I will return to Kampar as an RA (Research Assistant) before I start my Masters program. It'll be kind of a boring break for me since people I usually lepak with has already started working or are either studying. So, perhaps I'll return to Kampar earlier. I don't know, we'll see.

But as for now, Happy Holidays to me!
eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-35085467487432655562011-04-25T12:19:00.000+08:002011-04-25T12:19:40.449+08:00Short UpdateThis blog hasn't been updated for a month.. why? One reason is there wasn't anything unusual or interesting happened that I could write it down here. And the other reason is, even if there were some special events, I was busy to notice them or to blog them.

For the past month, I was either busy studying for my exam or busy writing my thesis. Now that I'm finally done with my thesis (I've just came back from submitting it), I have to push myself to study for my finals this Thursday. Pack, but since it's already the final finals, as in the last final exam I would sit for, I won't complain. In fact, when everyone is supposed to be happy there wouldn't be anymore exams, I'm in the opposite. No more exams simply means I'm graduating and leaving my current stage in life, and entering a new stage soon. New stages are always more difficult. Have you ever played a game where Level 2 is easier than Level 1?

Come to think about it, it's pretty sad. My elder brother once told me that studying life is the best because there is where we gain most freedom in many aspects. It might be stressful at times, but it's nothing compared to what we're prepared for in the future. And yes, it took me long but I understand what he meant now.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-84936562943534245882011-03-27T21:07:00.000+08:002011-03-27T21:07:42.445+08:00Feeling Creative Over The WeekendLike what the title said, I was just feeling a little more creative than usual.. It's not like I lost interest in photography before this. It's just that I was busy with a lot of things and didn't really have the chance to take out my DLSR and play with it, until last week when I went to Teluk Intan (see previous post), I realized I actually miss photography a lot.

So anyway, I tried a photography style I wanted to try since long ago. It's called light writing where people use torch light to write in the air, in a dark room or area. For this technique, I had Eric to scribble and write on the air while I experiment. These are the outcomes.
It's actually a very simple technique. All is needed is to manipulate the shutter speed. Then it's my turn to write!
Since it has been quite some while since I last play around with my Nikcy, so I decided to snap a few shots and well, see if my skills improved. I doubt this though.. Lol.
So we arrived thanks to a 'super map' by Hua's classmates. We got our chee cheong fun at 8 p.m. and then went to a nearby food court to have our dinner and chee chong fun. Coincidentally, there was pasar malam as well. So, being a pasar malam fan (me, that is) and being overly full, we went to the pasar malam for a light walk. I got myself a pair of adorable flip-flops. Only RM 5!!
I'm interested in getting a macro lens, thanks to Miss Sito. It's a 50mm lens which cost somewhere RM400. Or perhaps I'll get a fish eye lens? Well, I'll think about it.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-86132541768790519862011-03-12T11:02:00.000+08:002011-03-12T11:02:52.378+08:00Infected- A Second Visit To The DoctorI just came back from the clinic. This time round, the doctor recommend me to take an antibiotic jab. Doctors and nurses in Kampar are very nice people. They actually explain to you (when they really should) why you should take a particular medicine and how the medicines will help you. The doctor said if I was given an injection, the concentration of antibiotics to my target organ (which is my throat) is higher as compared to taking the antibiotic capsules orally where 40% or so will be excreted out of the body.

So anyway, I went ahead with the injection. It's better than coughing throughout the night and not able to sleep. After what seem like years, I don't even remember how long ago since I had my last jab on my butt. Lol. But this time is not exactly on my butt, more like my hips.

This visit costs me slightly more. I was given a stronger antibiotic, cough mixture and phlegm-diluent and it's RM 50. Pretty reasonable but the dispensary nurse kept explaining to me that the antibiotic pills I'm given are very good pills and are far stronger than the previous ones so it's more expensive. Like she's feeling guilty for charging a high price.

Well, I hope there'll be no more third visit.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-67842209838564648802011-03-09T23:54:00.001+08:002011-03-10T08:53:37.301+08:00InfectedI haven't been very well since 2 Saturdays ago. The symptoms were the usual runny and blocked nose, sore throat, fever-ish, coughing and sore limbs. Naturally, I would definitely though of cold. I did not bother about it for a couple of days till I felt a little worse even after getting some flu inhaler from Sito. Then I started to take some traditional herbal pills I got from Chinese drug stores. Consumed for a day or two and there were no changes, then I tried traditional herbal tea. No changes as well. But heck, I did not pay much attention to my condition. What do you expect anyway when I have 2 reports due (luckily one got extended) and 2 tests (on the same day, to boot!) in a week followed by a report and another test and next, thesis.

So, I coughed till I vomited twice, rest in between my studies and work but my health did not improve and my voice got more and more hoarse. Till one night, when I was out to watch football, I talked till I completely lose my voice. Completely! Never there was once in my life I completely lost my voice. The worst I've endured before this was hoarseness and that's all. But this did no scare me either. I knew my voice will come back to me the next day and yes, it did. Only it got a little sexy and 'shy' to come out (I had to scream to produce a low volume voice). Lol.

We all know about the emergence of H1N1 lately and my family, one by one, called and persuaded me to visit the doctor. Finally last night, after 13 days of torture, I went to the clinic. The doctor diagnosed me with laryngitis. It's a type of viral infection on my larynx, that is my voice cord. This is why my voice box is non-functional. I was given 7 types of medication and cost me RM 45. One of the medicine given was antibiotic. I was so tempted to ask the doctor why did he prescribe me with antibiotic when I got a virus infection. Antibiotic does not work on viruses but as a typical Asian, I did not ask. I started taking the drugs since last night and it has been 4 doses since but I haven't felt better. Let's hope for the best! I want to speak loudly like I used to ><eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-28750186833068350852011-02-25T17:23:00.001+08:002011-02-25T17:28:21.651+08:00To Mom, Dad and Kayah, We have No Generation Gap... I'm in my final year final sem which explains everything. I'll be graduating very soon and some of my senior friends have already graduated.

When I came back from class just tens of minutes ago, I logged in to my Facebook account and the notification said that I was tagged in a post. I clicked it, got linked to Chee Choon's blog and read a post which touched me.

Chee Choon is my Photography Society's chairman since I was in Foundation. He's a really talented photographer and what makes him more special and memorable to me is that he's humble and not selfish. To me, it's like his passion for photography is so deep that he's like a pastor, travel to preach about his teachings. Of course, we're not talking about religion here.

He's the type of guy so ideal that you're dying to find a flaw in him but that one flaw is hidden so deep that only his intimates knew it. I just can't tell you how much or how ideal he is. He came to my place once before he graduated and told Sito and I about his dreams. I hope he'll achieve it one day, I really do :) There was once when I visited Penang with my family members, he was so helpful that he told every interesting spots in Penang, where to eat good food, the directions and special events that time. At night, he offered to fetch me around Penang island on his motorcycle. A very simple action but means a lot to me and always appreciated.

Here's the link to his blog post about Photography Society members he worked with. It really touched me that he remembered event the smallest detail I told him years back. It made me feel appreciated and it's the kind of feeling that will put a smile on my face for the whole day and every time I read back.
Thank you so much, Mr. President.. for everything and anything.eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-18721683071088438322011-01-31T10:22:00.001+08:002011-01-31T10:23:44.455+08:00Temporary BreakSo, it's Chinese New Year in 3 days.. and I'm still in Kampar. Everyone went back last week to celebrate their new year but I had to stay back to attend a class today. Well, partly because of that and partly because I need to finish my thesis draft for submission.

After what seems like a long time, I'm finally done with 4 chapters! And I'm sending these 4 chapters as the first (and only) draft. I still have 3 chapters to go. Sigh...

Things are going to be a little hectic for me. I have 3 chapters for thesis, an average of 1 lab report per week and the tests and quizzes are not included yet. I'm just glad I have one subject lesser this sem (because I took it last sem).

Well, since it's Chinese New Year, I guess I'll enjoy plenty of Mandarin oranges and 'ba kua' before I return to my hectic student life.

Happy Chinese New Year!!eliza natsukohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00375547514472809983noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702984784343969750.post-8497503760861517512011-01-12T15:06:00.001+08:002011-01-12T15:11:45.620+08:00New Member To The (Camera) FamilyI started of with a nameless blue Canon Powershot A460 in 2007...
I used Cammie for a year and a half then I got Nikcy, my Nikon D3000 DSLR during Chinese New Year 2010.
A conclusion you can make from here? I don't really like normal black or silver cameras. I like colours! ...Exception for my Nikcy. I went into my car, start the engine, warm it up and put my gear on Reverse. I put my hand brake down and weird, how come my car did not reverse like it usually does? I step on the accelerator a little and found the car not moving still.

I went down and check on my tyres. Great. I have a punctured front right tire. First thing I did was... guess what? Update Facebook. Lol. Then I text messaged several friends and then got Jo to fetch me to uni. Thanks, Jo!

About 5 p.m., I left my lab to get my tire fixed. In order to fix my tyre, I need to change the tire first, right? So, Wei Khiang, Prince and Edwin followed me home to help.
It was kind of an easy process, I think but it certainly need strength! We had such difficult time trying to loosen the nuts. After about 45 minutes, we finally managed to change my tire and then we went to a nearby mechanic to patch my tyre and changed it back. It took less than 3 minutes as opposed to the 45 minutes that we took and cost only RM 5.
And I just got back from my lab, still working on my final year project. Even tomorrow, Christmas eve, I'll still be here in Kampar, going to lab. Not only it's Christmas, it's December! The holiday season! And not only it's December, it's my sem break!! Geez!

I'm still not getting the desired result so, I'll guess I'll stay this entire sem till next year. Great way to start a new year.

Anyway, I found this amazing occurrence in my lab incubator today. Look! It's not man-made. It occurred naturally and no one actually noticed. Life is amazing, isn't?
Just in case you don't know, they are bacteria. Not the design of the container. Looks like snowflakes, yes? Even the bacteria are celebrating Christmas this year!
